Warren Rex-McCray

Warren Rex-McCray (The Handyman) was born and raised in West Sacramento and has raised his own family in the same neighborhood. Warren graduated from River City High School in 1993. Warren is a jack of all trades. He worked over 10 years for North Star Plumbing, plumbing new homes from the ground up and maintaining homes for warranty.

Warren has worked doing handyman work going on 25 years making life easier for many property owners, businesses, and property management companies.

Mason Rex-Pentecost

Mason (Warren and Jennifer’s son) is a technician. He graduated River City HS in 2015. Joined the McCray’s Handyman team as an apprentice in 2018. When we incorporated in 2020 he joined as part owner. Mason is great with technology and has really been a key part of our company keeping up with all the smart technology being installed in homes. Mason is engaged to be married. Together they have a daughter and are welcoming their son in November 2021.

Jennifer McCray

Jennifer manages the office and job scheduling. She was born and raised in Orange County, CA, and made West Sacramento her home in 2005. Together her and Warren have two sons ( William & Mason).

Jennifer has a background in sales, marketing, and customer service. She started her career in machine tools sales and later transitioned into pharmaceutical sales. In 2006 she took a sales position for a popular business and success coach and later did business coaching herself. That experience led her and Warren to seek out the possibilities of becoming self-employed. She has been a part of many successful ventures. She and Warren co-founded McCray’s Handyman in 2009. She has been managing the office full time since 2017.

Handyman to Hero

Around One O’clock, we approached one of our main stops at El Manto Park, also known as The Clay Banks at mile marker 18; a favorite spot to dive off the cliffs into the cool water below. There was a commotion of high pitched yelling coming from around the corner, but no audible words were heard. No one paid much mind because people tend to get rowdy on the river and a little yelling is normal. The yelling and screaming continued longer than usual. I walked over there for reassurance; not expecting to see anything eventful. As I approached, I saw Warren Rex-McCray running up the rock from out of the water as fast as he could. Another red headed gentleman in front of him was carrying the body of a 24 year old man, who was foaming out of the mouth. The gentleman laid the young man’s body on the large smooth, clay like rock.
